Big baby born in Indonesia

News in Indonesia: A normal sized baby (left) and the 'big' baby boy 8.7kg, 24.4". The unusual size is due to excessive glucose during pregnancy. The mother is diabetic. Is it bad for the baby I wonder.

Three hours of Bible lessons made my brain so congested! It has been 30 years since I had lessons in a classroom setting like this. Then, I had no problem; but now I find my brain is slow.....in comprehending the lessons. Another major problem is memory and forgetfulness - I read something and forget it the next minute. Can't memorise any verse. I like learning but not able to remember what was taught is freaking me out! I wonder if other people my age is like this or just my brain. Divine help desperately needed to recondition my brain. Holy spirit, grant me the gift of understanding so that I may apprehend your divine heavenly mysteries.

In memoriam - father - 5th anniversary

My chives has bloomed, from a bud into a cluster of tiny white flowers. First time I see chives' flowers. This plant was planted by my late mother and after her death on 29.12.07; I took just this one plant from her house to give it a new home in my house. I like eating chives. Knowing how my late mom loves gardening, I have been very careful in nurturing this plant. Seeing it flowers makes me happy and I know my mother in heaven would be happy knowing her chives is still very much alive and thriving. It may be a small potted plant but it meant a lot to me.

This is a crassula plant - I bought this plant a week after my mom died - in memory of her roots from China as this is sometimes called jade plant. My late mother likes jade. I had 2 pots (representing mother and father) and I took great care of it but unfortunately it withered after 1-1/2 years. I had no experience with this plant and probably overwatered it. (Strangely, after blogging about my jade plant, I found a piece of small round jade in front of my house this morning. It has a nice green colour. Losing my jade plants but found a real jade.)

My jasmine - I plucked two flowers in the morning and the fragrance was lovely. They are from the same plant. The one on the left has formed lovely petals - look like a small rose while the other has lesser petals.

One of my fragrant jasmine flower again. It opens at night at 9 o'clock and I happened to notice it when I smelt the fragrance in the air and quickly snapped this photo. It was wonderful to see it opening and half an hour later it was fully opened. Flower lovers would understand - all these little simple joy and delights when a plant you've nurtured start blooming.

No matter what, Caster Semenya is God's creation, a child of God. She should be accepted the way she is.  She won the women's athletics.  Let it be.  Its not her fault that she was born this way.

Have read about hermaphrodites but never seen photos. Now South African teenager (18 years old) champion underwent tests and found to have internal testes but no external male organ; and no ovaries and no uterus. Testosterone levels 3 times more than normal woman. This gives her both male and female characteristics.

The 1932 Summer Olympics Women Athletics Champion:-  21 year-old Stanislawa Walasiewicz (name changed later to Stella Walsh) was another woman with ambiguous genitalia. She set over 100 national and world records in athletics. Only in 1980 when she was killed at age 69 during an armed robbery, the autopsy revealed she possessed male genitalia and displayed some female characteristics. She had both an XX and XY pair of chromosomes. Her birth certificate listed her as female. She did get married at 36 years old to a boxer but the marriage didnt last long.

Many firemen,paramedics, volunteers, survivors,passers-by died from health complications from inhalation of the toxic gas, smoke and dust. There were about 10,000 volunteers and many were cancer-stricken, lung problems etc. later on in their life.
