Anorexia is a "brain-based" disease, it starts in your mind, the way you think. So to all you sweet young teenagers: please see a psychiatrist immediately once you notice that you are overly conscious of weight gain. Nip the disease in the bud.

1) Died in August 2006 - Young Uruguayan models - Luisel Ramos (20 years old) who collapsed and died of a heart attack during a fashion show. Luisel ate lettuce leaves and diet coke for 3 months before dying.
2) Her sister Eliana Ramos (18 years old) who died 6 months later in February 2007 of malnutrition. Eliana was 5'7" and started modelling at 16 years old when spotted by a talent scout.

3) Died in November 2007 - Israeli model Hila Elmalich - 5'6"weighed 22 kilos, less than 60 pounds when she died, while preparing to celebrate her 34th birthday. Started modelling at 13 years old and her anorexia began at around that time.

4) Died in January 2009 - This young model didnt die of anorexia!....but died of an unknown "flesh-eating bacteria?"
Beautiful sexy Miss World Finalist Brazilian model Mariana Bridi da Costa, 20 years old, died of a little known deadly bacterial infection. It was first diagnosed as a urinary tract infection . Doctors tried to save her by amputating her hands, feet, kidneys and stomach, but could not. The world is full of scary bacteria and viruses.

The first time I learnt about "Anorexia nervosa" was in Feb 4, 1983 when my favourite singer - the famous singer Karen Carpenter, died of it at age 32. It was such a shock to me when I read the newspaper headlines, because I never knew such an illness existed.
