8 Aug 2012 - Wednesday night 10pm - One Utama Shopping Center's car park.
Patrolling security guards caught 4 suspected robbers when their stolen Proton wira car got stuck after a frantic car chase inside the car park. Smoke was seen coming from the car tyres.  With their vehicle immobile, at least 12 security guards surrounded the vehicle and used their batons to break the windows. This gang of robbers came with 2 parangs and assorted tools/weapons.  The guards and their trained canine unit detained them until police arrive.  Suspicion was aroused when this car entered the mall during closing hours and did not park, probably looking for a target.
So its not safe to go out even in twos, threes or fours as the robbers would outnumber the victims.

The guards used their batons to smash the windows. This car was stolen in Sungei Buloh. Pity the owner, now that his car is found in such a manner.

Saw this on Facebook on 14 July - Robbers smashed car window to rob motorist at traffic light.

Quote: "I had an unfortunate encounter this morning within 5mins after leaving home to the office. I was driving to work and stopped my car due to traffic on a single lane road in front of a row of shop. I was looking to the right of my car and within split seconds, the left passenger window was smashed with a hand trying to grab my bag which was placed on the ground of the passenger side... I pressed on my car horn furiously and it shocked the robber who was a pillion on the motorbike. He immediately retracted his hand and the rider sped off. In that instance when he was shocked his weapon was left inside my car as well (as attached picture). I am very fortunate to be unhurt with no loss of any personal belongings. It was a blessing in disguise and a reminder to be more alert, careful and beware of our surroundings at all times.

As learning to share with fellow females for safety, do note the following and from my own experience…

· It is a must to have your car windows tinted as it helps to hold the window from smashing into pieces. My car window was held intact with the tint despite it being smashed

· Do not leave your handbags even on the ground of the passenger side

· Be alert to surroundings even though you are in the car and the traffic is not moving

· Press on the horn as it will alert the public surrounding you for attention and it will deter the robbers from doing anything further

According to the police, the weapon is self made from electric cables and industrial plugs which is very hard and able to break windows and glasses with just one smash. Based on the condition of the weapon, it has been used numerous times. Please be careful and do not underestimate a simple item of such which looks harmless."

Never expose your handbags in the car, hide them. These are sickening, maybe  thrill seeking robbers who enjoys robbing and creating terror.  The robbers are usually "dark-skinned" race and victims are "yellow-skinned" race.  No racism here, only facts.  I outwitted and escaped from being robbed this way one night on the back lane behind Poh Kong Jewellery Shop near Menara MBPJ by an Indian man on a motorbike.  Another occasion was in the morning when this same Indian man suddenly came speeding towards me as I was getting out of the car.  Luckily I was empty handed, not carrying any handbag. I recognised him as the same man who tailed me before. So beware of this robber targetting Menara MBPJ area.  Many people had their bags snatched when alighting from their car while they are focusing on locking their cars or collecting things from their car boot, and the robber's motorbike is quiet, (fitted with silencers) so you wont even know a motorbike is right behind you!

23 July 2012 - Monday 5.35pm -  Attempted robbery inside Sunway Pyramid's female toilet LG floor opposite MPH bookstore
Saw this news on Facebook. Quote Sylvia Chew:
(("Hi guys, this is what happened to me on 23rd July 2012 (Monday) and I want to share it out to everyone, especially girls.
We all know shopping malls carpark are not safe, but now, the WASHROOMS are not safe too!!!
I was back from college and I stopped by at Sunway Pyramid today.
I was holding my MacbookPro, my Iphone and my handbag.
It was 5:35pm and I wanted to go to the washroom. I went into the ladies washroom at LG floor, opposite MPH, alone.
When I walked to the washroom area, there was one guy (malay-looking, or indonesian, something like that) was sitting at the bench. I looked at him and he seemed like he's waiting for someone, so I didnt think much and went into the washroom.
Then I chose a cubicle and I placed my laptop, my phone and my handbag on the desk-thing behind the toilet bowl.
The washroom was empty, it made me a lil bit worry. So i paid extra attention.
Then I walked out from the cubicle to get tissue outside. I was just being very slow since I was not urgent.
When I walked out from the cubicle, I saw the guy at the doorstep of the ladies from the mirror. He saw me too so he backed off. I thought he went into the wrong toilet so I din scream since he has already back off. Then I proceed to get my tissue. But I've started suspecting.
I have this habit that I'll wipe the toilet bowl and place tissue on it only I'll sit down, so I was slowly nicely placing the tissue. I haven't taken off any garments on me yet.
Then I heard footsteps. I was worry. So I stopped placing the tissue, I stood there and I paid attention to the footsteps.
I heard the footsteps went into the cubicle next to me. It was not heels step. It was heavy flat shoes footsteps. Then I was still standing there because I was suspecting. (I cant be sure if it's the toilet worker).
Suddenly, a hand appeared above me and it grabbed my handbag on the desk-thingy behind the toilet bowl. Then I saw the guy.
He had shoulder length hair, wearing brown/gray tshirt, long pants.
I was already paying attention so I roared at the guy and ran out to chase him.
He was scared maybe, so he dropped my bag on the floor and ran away.
I'm not sure if he took anything, so I ran out together with him wanted to chase him.
There was 3 witnesses outside the toilet. And they helped me to chase too.
The fail robber ran down the staircase behind the washrooms. Then I quickly went back into the washroom to check if anything of mine got stolen.
Thank God, as my phone and laptop was out of my bag, it was still there. And my bag was on the floor, purse is still inside.
I have only RM40 left inside my purse so I was not so worry about it. It's just most importantly my phone and my laptop, and my ICs and license ( i hv no credit cards so it's fine).
Everything of mine was not being stolen. And I was safe.
Then I clarified with the 3 witnesses and I quickly went to the customer service desk to report about this. Told the management the whole story and I guess they're working harder with their mall security.

Just want to share this out to everyone because in Malaysia now, even just going to the washroom in shopping mall is not safe anymore.
Luckily I havent get my pants off as I was slowly cleaning the toilet bowl. If not, I wouldnt get to run out to chase the robber at the first second.
Especially to the girls, please be extra careful when you go to the washrooms, avoid entering it alone.
Please pay more attention to the people around the washroom before entering it.
If the washroom is empty, avoid entering.
And hope the shopping malls will pay more attention to the security, not only with the carparks, but also the washrooms.

I'm fine over here. Thank God for blessing.
And may God bless everyone else too.
Please be extra careful.  "))

This incident happened on 16/7/2012 which is yesterday night around 10pm at 1 Utama Shopping Center, old wing LG floor car park. An old man got punch by a malay guy, and he got robbed. There is no security guard around at all, and we cant even find a security guard that time. After reaching of the security guard, they want us to stop taking photo and keep chasing us leave, they are trying to cover up the issue.
And the best thing is, when I call 999, I got scolded by the police =.= "eh! cakap melayu, cakap melayu..." Excuse me sir, I know malay, I'm just kinda panic at the moment because I'm used to speak english most of the time. And it take almost half an hour for them to come over. There is a police station at Taman Tun right? Why took so long? What if people dying? This is seriously unacceptable.

Please share this to all of your friends, love one, family, strangers.. Nowadays no matter shopping complex, or wherever are no longer safe, we gotta take extra care to our self, must be extreme alert when we are at outside. Share! Share! Share! " ))

All ye robbers, repent before its too late.
"Now you are under a curse and driven from the ground, which opened its mouth to receive your brother's blood from your hand.  When you work the ground, it will no longer yield its crops for you. You will be a restless wanderer on the earth."   (Genesis 4: 11-12 NIV)
