Rest In Peace - Miss Elena M Cooke
Just found out Miss Cooke passed away on 2 May, ripe old age of 90 years.
Her funeral is on 6 May which happens to be the 11th anniversary of the Final BBGS assembly and where the BBGS's school flag was raised for the final time.
The funeral - burial pictures. Goodbye forever.
I am glad I went and took these photos of our old school BBGS before the building was demolised 11 years ago..
BBGS School Anthem
BBGS we pledge to thee
Our love and toil in the years to be
When we are
grown and take our place
As loyal women with our race
Father in Heaven
who lovest all
O help Thy children when they call
That they may build from
age to age
An undefiled heritage
Teach us to bear the yoke in
youth
With steadfastness and careful truth
That in our time Thy grace may
give
The truth whereby the nations live
Teach us delight in simple
things
And mirth that has no bitter springs
Forgiveness free of evil
done
And love to all men 'neath the sun
View of BBGS's main building from Starhill.
BBGS's gymnasium sign : No street shoes allowed (only gym shoes permitted), no smoking, no littering. Did any schoolgirl smoked?
A sad sight - the derelict interior of the BBGS gym awaiting its demolition. I recalled a lot of hard work, toil and time spent raising funds to build this gym so that students can excel both in physical education as well as academically. A well-rounded education.
