Swine flu

Sunday, 16-8-09

Mighty God, I pray for your mercy and grace, release your miracle of healing and stop this disease of swine flu and eradicate the A(H1N1) virus. Stop it from infecting our world. We confess our sins and forgive us Lord. I pray for your divine protection for my family and my siblings' families against this epidemic. Wipe out this disease from the face of the earth merciful God. Thank you God. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

Swine flu - caused by a mutated pig virus which has crossed over to infect humans. The current strain includes some avian components (bird virus). So its inter-specie marriage of pig virus and bird virus and human flu virus. Yuks. Bought 5 surgical masks, RM1.00 each.

Spread through infected droplets from: coughing, sneezing, kissing, touching infected objects, touching nose, eyes and mouth through infected hands.

Symptoms:
Fever (greater than 100 F or 37.8 C)
Muscle aches
Lethargy
Coughing
Headache
Sore throat
Runny nose
Nausea
Vomiting
Diarrhea
Lack of appetite

3. How long are infected people contagious?

An adult is usually contagious as long as they have symptoms - usually up to seven days following the beginning of the illness. The "shedding stage" of the virus is during the first 4-5 days of illness. Children can be considered contagious longer, up to 10 days. The initial incubation period is 24-48 hours.

The Spanish Flu epidemic in 1918/1919 killed between 20 - 40 million people. A global disaster and worst recorded in history. Mostly healthy young adults died. The virus was suspected to originate from China, mutated in US and spread to Europe. I think maybe this Spanish Flu helped to end World War 1. So will A(H1N1) helps to end terrorism in our current time? Will all the countries finally make peace because of this tiny virus? Scientists & manufacturers of antiviral are the heros here.
