Remembering Blessed Mother Teresa

26 Aug 1910 to 5 Sept 1997

By Blood, I am Albanian
By citizenship, an Indian
By faith, I am a Catholic nun
As to my calling, I belong to the world
As to my heart, I belong entirely to the Heart of Jesus.

12 years old - she felt strongly the call of God. She knew she had to be a missionary to spread the love of God.

18 years old - she left Albania and went to Ireland to join the Institute of the Blessed Virgin Mary, also known as the Sisters of Loreto, an Irish community of nuns with missions to India. Here she received the name Sister Mary Teresa after the Saint Therese of Lisieux. (Her birthname was Gonxha Agnes.)

36 years old - she received an inspiration, a call within her call, she heard Jesus pleas to her "Come Be My Light". With this revelation, she founded The Missionaries of Charity dedicated to serve the poorest of the poor.

Mother Teresa's quotes on God.
Before you speak, it is necessary for you to listen, for God speaks in the silence of the heart.

Mother Teresa's quotes on prayers.
The fruit of silence is prayer
the fruit of prayer is faith
the fruit of faith is love
the fruit of love is service
the fruit of service is peace

Feel often during the day the need for prayer and pray.
Prayer opens the heart, till it is capable of containing God himself.
Ask and seek and your heart will be big enough to receive Him And keep Him as Your Own.

If we pray, we will believe,
If we believe, we will love,
If we love, we will serve.

Quotes on forgiveness.
"If we really want to love we must learn how to forgive".
“People ask me what advice I have for a married couple struggling in their relationship.
I always answer: pray and forgive.
And to young people from violent homes, I say pray and forgive.
And again even to the single mother with no family support: pray and forgive”

Quotes by Mother Teresa.
Speak tenderly to them.
Let there be kindness in your face, in your eyes, in your smile, in the warmth of your greeting.

Always have a cheerful smile. Don't only give your care, but give your heart as well.

If you are humble nothing will touch you, neither praise nor disgrace, because you know what you are.

If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other.
